Biography
Thom Gonyeau is co-owner of Mountain View Group, a creative services agency and media production company, where he has worked for more than 25 years.
Thom began his career as a producer and has held many positions at Mountain View from business development to Chief Operating Officer. In 2008, he and his business partner purchased the company from the original owner and his role as entrepreneur took off. Mountain View celebrated its 30th anniversary this past year.
Account management and customer delight have always been at the heart of Thom’s passions. He has partnered with customers on communication projects at GE, The Coca-Cola Company, Raytheon Company, various government agencies, not-for-profit organizations, and educational institutions. Over the years, the resulting work has garnered hundreds of regional, national, and international awards.
Thom was introduced to Creative Problem Solving and CPSI about a dozen years ago and has attended ever since. He has been a leader for the Springboard and Building Teams curricula. Currently, he is on the Board of Trustees for the Creative Education Foundation, which sponsors the international CPSI conference. He has served on the executive board of Capital District Community Gardens and is past president of two different Advertising Clubs (in Albany, NY and Atlanta, GA). He has been honored as a notable alum by the College of Saint Rose, was named one of the 40 Under Forty to watch by The Business Review, and designated a Top 100 producer.
For fun, Thom enjoys traveling with his wife and hanging out with their new son. He enjoys music, theatre, creative writing, & photography and is an avid runner and tennis player. Thom resides and works in Atlanta, but has an office in Schenectady, NY, and, therefore, bounces up and down the East Coast.
